How Some AI Remembers Without Reading Everything Again

Imagine words on a conveyor belt, sliding past you one at a time. You cannot grab them all and hold them at once. So you keep one small note in your head and update it as each word goes by. That little note is the whole trick behind a kind of AI called a state space model.
